Day 3 Jeep Safari + Hiking

THETH- Drive to Shkodër after a hearty breakfast. First begin by viewing and hiking up to Rozafa Castle, a thousands of year-old monument raised on a rocky hill. Historian Tit Livi called it “strongest site” of the Labeati tribe. A dearth of legends on the construction of the castle exist, but the most accepted motif is that of self-sacrifice and immurement. Lunch in Shkodër. Then drive from Shkodër to Theth. Outside the road turns inland and continues upwards - towards the border with Montenegro. While driving, you can admire the beautiful valleys and slopes of the Cursed Mountains. The ride lasts until the end of the asphalt road at an altitude of 1700 m above sea level. There is a short stop here to take photos at the viewpoint. A Jeep ride continues along the gravel road to the valley of the village of Theth. There is time for rest in the village and optional lunch consisting of traditional Albanian delicacies. There is a closed tower called Kulla - one of the most interesting buildings in Theth. The tower served as a refuge from the punishments of customary revenge for killers or perpetrators of mutilations. If there is time, the last point of the trip will be trekking along the mountain trail to the waterfall in Grunas, 30 meters high. You can continue your hike to see the wonderful Blue Eye if there is time. These springs are among the most beautiful in the entire Balkans. ACCOMMODATION IN TIRANA
